You can help to create positive change

At Outside In, your time and talent truly make a difference. Last year alone, 300 people contributed more than 40,000 hours of service. Volunteers are an integral part of our team.

Our volunteers are doctors, students, parents, teachers, professionals, retirees, and former clients. Group and corporate volunteers are essential for helping with projects, such as cleaning, cooking, painting and successful donation drives.

Won’t you join us?

Guidelines:

  • Outside In is able to accept volunteers 21 years of age and older.
  • Our clients are best served by consistent and reliable volunteers. Outside In is currently recruiting people willing to make a 100 hour commitment. There are some opportunities such as community work-days, or office support positions that will accommodate volunteers with less time to give.
  • Outside in receives more volunteer interest than we can accommodate. If we don’t have a current position that fits for you, please check back soon.

Steps for Volunteers:

  1. Identify the position you are interested in.
  2. Complete a volunteer application.
  3. Attend the "Presenting Outside In" Orientation. Dates and times are listed to the right.
  4. Schedule an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator.

Steps for Medical Professionals: Please send the following documents to the Volunteer Coordinator.

  1. A Curriculum Vitae
  2. Medical Professional Volunteer Application (.pdf)
  3. Multnomah County Health Care Provider Application (.pdf)
Multnomah County provides free indemnity coverage to volunteer medical professionals.
  4. Reference Check (.pdf)
