MEET THE RIA TEAM!

Imani Calhoun-Riley (she/her) is proud to call Portland home! She’s also a proud Historically Black College/University (HBCU) grad and proud of the work she does daily in social work. After graduating from the illustrious Claflin University, Imani decided to come back home and pour into the young people in Portland what was poured into her in South Carolina. She’s excited to be a part of the RIA team at Outside In and bring cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to the young folks navigating the racially oppressive structures designed to see us fail.

Xilax (Khalil) Callier (they/them) was raised in the Bay Area and has lived experience in being houseless as a young adult. Becoming a social worker was Khalil’s dream, and now they’ve been doing it for 6 years. Khalil makes sure that every client they work with has the confidence to navigate systems to empower themselves.

Terese Brazzle (she/her/Queen) is a strong and beautiful rose that grew from the concrete streets of Portland! She is a proud graduate of Jefferson High School and Norfolk State University who has dedicated more than 20 years to community-based Case Management. Terese’s passion for service has allowed her to have a positive impact on a plethora of individuals from diverse backgrounds; individuals with developmental and physical disabilities, drug and alcohol addiction, mental health needs, elder support, and homeless youth to name a few. Terese’s professional journey has brought her to being one of the Service Case Managers and developers of the new RIA (Representation In Action) Program, which focuses on the importance of Culturally Comprehensive Case Management. Terese is excited for the amazing calling to be of service and looks forward to doing it 20+ more years!
