Pharmacy Patient Assistance Fund
Many patients at Outside In are struggling with difficult chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. Outside In’s on-site pharmacy team plays a crucial role in helping them access the medications they need. Last year, our pharmacy team filled more than 16,000 prescriptions for more than 1,800 patients. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we are able to bill insurance and purchase drugs as part of a discount program to stretch our scarce resources as much as possible. However, insurance doesn’t always cover the full cost of medications. The Outside In Pharmacy helps cover these costs with its Patient Assistance Fund. This fund removes financial barriers for the 71% of our pharmacy patients who are uninsured or underinsured. Without this fund, too many of our patients would not be able to get the medications they need.
