Services We Provide

Medical Services

As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Outside In provides 28,000 medical visits a year to the most vulnerable members of our community. Our two clinics, located in downtown Portland and the Rosewood Neighborhood in East Multnomah County provide comprehensive and accessible medical and mental health services. For those who are unable to come to us, we have two medical outreach vans to provide care right where they are, before medical problems escalate and they end up in the emergency room.

In our School-Based Health Center at Milwaukie High School in Clackamas County, we reach out to at-risk youth and families in the surrounding communities providing accessible health care, health literacy education, and health resources that establish positive relationships between students and health care.

If you do not have health insurance, our friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you sign up for Oregon Health Plan.

Quality Primary Health Care

Poverty, homelessness, and inadequate access to health care prevent people from achieving full health and well-being. With our client-centered approach, Outside In specializes in providing care that overcomes barriers and helps our patients reach their health goals. We work in partnership with all our patients to find a path towards greater health and wellness.

Other Health Services

We are committed to providing the health services that are needed by our community. These include Drug Users Health Services, Tattoo Removal, Transgender and Gender Non-confirming care, and an onsite Pharmacy.

Outside In is a teaching site for Oregon Health & Science University and the National College of Natural Medicine. These partnerships extend our reach.

Multidisciplinary Care

A coalition of medical doctors, naturopathic doctors, behavioral health counselors, Medication Assisted Treatment providers, medical assistants, and nurse case managers join together to provide relationship-based primary care.

Success Stories

As a patient at Outside In, the dignity, compassion, and respect that I was shown by staff truly had a lasting impact on me and directly resulted in me wanting to get involved in helping my community.

Outside In made me want to be around excellence. Outside In shaped me. It taught me how to be kind to people less fortunate.

When I came out as trans and reached out to the community for help, everyone had something good to say about Outside In.

Through these connections I was able to get into school and graduate as a Certified Medical Assistant

Through Outside In’s guidance and support, I was in my own apartment completely self-sufficient within a week.

If you met me today, you might never imagine I spent countless nights sleeping under the Burnside Bridge.
