No-Show & Late Cancellation Policy

Policy

It is the policy of Outside In to monitor and manage appointment no-shows and late cancellations. Outside Ins goal is to provide excellent care to each patient in a timely manner. If it is necessary to cancel an appointment, patients are required to call or leave a message before their appointment time. Notification allows us to better utilize appointments for other patients in need of prompt medical care.

Procedure

I. All patients are notified of the appointment “No-Show & Late Cancellation Policy” at the time of scheduling. This policy can and will be provided in writing to patients upon request.

II. For new and existing patients:

a. If a schedule conflict arises, appointments must be cancelled prior to the scheduled appointment time.

b. If a patient does not arrive or contact the clinic within 10 minutes of their scheduled appointment start time, the appointment will be documented as a “no-show.”

c. If a patient calls after their appointment to cancel, the appointment will be documented as a No Show.

d. In the event a patient has incurred three (3) documented “no-shows”, the patient is only eligible to schedule a same day appointment with a provider. To schedule a same day appointment, the patient will come to the clinic or call the scheduling team to inquire about availability at the clinic the same day.

e. Once the patient has completed three (3) successful same-day appointments, they can be scheduled again for book-ahead visits with their provider.
