Help Outside In advocate for eviction protection and renter assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

UPDATE: The eviction moratorium has been extended in Multnomah County to July, 2021. The Oregon state legislature is meeting on Monday, December 21st for a special session. Extending a statewide eviction moratorium and renter protections are on the agenda. It is critical for our state legislators to take action to extend the eviction moratorium!

On January 1, 2021, the eviction moratorium currently protecting renters who have been impacted by COVID-19 is set to expire, putting thousands of Oregonians at risk of becoming homeless. There is still time for Oregon lawmakers to act. We at Outside In join with a large coalition of nonprofits and advocacy groups who are urging our state legislature to extend eviction protections and rental assistance for our community members in need, especially for our neighbors who are low-income, Black, Indigenous, and people of color who are disproportionately impacted the pandemic’s effects on employmenteconomic stability, and physical and mental health.

We are committed to advocating for the rights of our community members, and we believe that all people deserve a safe, affordable, and stable place to live. Join us in asking our lawmakers to take action right away to prevent thousands of Oregonians from losing stable housing and becoming at risk for houselessness.
